Let’s Talk “Ponte Modern American”
Location: Located in the new Midtown Tampa. There is a parking garage with plenty of parking. However, the restaurant offers complimentary valet parking.
Service: Celebrate good times, C’mon. Well, it was that time of the year to celebrate another year. I recommend making reservations, I was fortunate as I was trying to do it online and could not get a time that works for us. So I did the next best thing, I made a phone call. Voila, we got a perfect time! It was our first time in the Midtown area and got a little lost, don’t laugh at me lol. The restaurant host welcomed us, and we were seated right away. April, Nathan, and Annie were our servers and oh my word, what an experience. They made the evening well worth the wait. They served us our meal, and there was not a moment we did not feel super extra special. We were treated as the royals. Thank you, guys, for making our evening celebration extra special!
Food: The food was just as delicious. We started with the calamari (spicy-sesame honey, bean sprouts, peanuts, scallions, and cilantro. My filet mignon- Linz Heritage Angus topped off with the cognac truffle sauce and topped with tiger shrimp for our main course. The steak melted in my mouth. Yummy! My hubby had the Chilean sea bass- miso, bok choy, pickled beech mushroom and lobster ginger sauce, his meal was just as tasty! We had the campanelle gouda mac and cheese for our sides, which I wish included more gouda cheese flavors. I could not taste it. Finally, we had the carrot cake for our dessert, which was quite unique. Let’s just say it was Ponte’s version of a cheesecake.
Ambience: This restaurant has modern décor at its finest. You feel a sense of luxury and romance when you walk into the restaurant. The welcoming faces of the hosts to the service make it very inviting for a romantic evening or just an evening with some friends. The modern chandeliers made the lighting just right. The kitchen is visible to all, which is an added touch. I loved where we were seated. I observe that the middle section of the seating as compact.
