FULLY CHARGED!

Let’s Talk “The Battery”

Location: The Battery is located in the vibrant Sparkman Wharf, Channelside Tampa Bay. There are plenty of paid parking spaces across the street from the restaurant’s area.

Service:  I wasn’t sure that the restaurant was open as the area had just opened back up to the public after closing everything down due to the storm. On our way to the restaurant, we contacted the restaurant to confirm if they were open and made reservations 1 hour ahead. We were seated right away, and I asked to sit in the little private room area as we celebrated. Our server, Joy, was genuinely joyful and well knowledgeable about the menu and was able to answer every question we asked. On our way out, we met Michael, one of the managers, who thanked us for choosing to dine with Battery.

Food: Again, Joy was our guide; for starters, we ordered a charcuterie board with three main selections. (drunken goat, prosciutto and the brie) All the boards come with a chef’s special accouterments (mustard, local honeycomb, premium nuts and olives, house pickled vegetables, fresh fruits, and freshly baked crostini. This was one of the tastiest boards I’ve had. 😋. For our entreé meal, we shared the Rigatoni Bolognese (cabernet- braised beef short rib, roasted garlic, herbed ricotta, and fresh crostini. I added grilled chicken. This dish was delightful and very inviting with every bite. For dessert, we ordered the crémé Brulee, which was delicious.

Ambience: Funny, my friend chose this restaurant to celebrate her day. I’ve always wanted to try this place and finally had the opportunity to do so. There is the option for indoor and outdoor dining. From the time you step inside, you are connected with the modern and classic decor that is warm and inviting to the eyes. The place is classy and truly an upscale restaurant in the heart of the vibrant Sparksman Wharf.

Price: $$$

A Dash of Encouragement: The charge. I think of a battery as where you need to charge up to keep going. After being shut in for a few days because of the storm approaching our area, this was the perfect chosen spot to charge up and know that you need to keep going. As we celebrated around great food and conversation, it was a time of needing to keep going. We must keep going, even when we don’t feel like it. We need to keep the charge going to help others and be a blessing in whatever that may look like, not just for ourselves but for others. Something to think about, do you need to charge up, and why do we need charging? Is it for me or for someone else?
