Let’s Talk “Front Porch Grille & Bart’s Tavern”

Location: Front Porch Grille is located in the historic area of Seminole Heights Tampa FL.
Service: This spot was on the to-go-to list for quite some time, being that we drove by the place on our way to the C House restaurant. We decided to visit the place for a Sunday brunch. It was an impromptu outing so we didn’t make any reservations. We were greeted and were seated right away. The server was really friendly and knowledgeable about the menu.

Food: According to the website, there recipes are made from scratch with the best ingredients. The menu had so many choices, but I was craving an omelette. The server recommended I try the greek omelette (tomatoes, onions, green olives, feta and banana peppers) never had it before, it was yummy 😋, served with an English muffin and I ordered the grits . Hubby on the other had ordered their special serving, the braised lamb shank served with Pome Williams potatoes, root vegetables and a red wine reduction. We were very satisfied with the meals. Overall, great for brunch, lunch, or dinner.
Ambience: The restaurant is located in the historic district of Seminole Heights and it’s a 1898 Victorian House. The layout of the restaurant is truly historic with indoor and outdoor seating. The decor reminded me felt like we were in a museum. There is inside and outside seating. The outside seating is eating on the front porch of the building (how cool). We sat inside, because it’s summer in Florida.. get my point. Unfortunately, the only downfall is the flies was ridiculous. That is our only complaint.

A Dash of Encouragement: Front Porch Grille & Bart’s Tavern reminded me of my grandmother’s green and white house, except it didn’t have an upstairs. Growing up on an island, most homes were built with a front porch. Side note: I especially love the wrap-around porches and always dreamed of having one, maybe one day! 😊. Now back to the front porch! 😆 There were great times that took place on the front porch, such as family and friend’s gatherings where conversations and real talk occurred. Sometimes the front porch conversations were an intimate and quiet time for yourself, or it was just a time to sit, reflect and admire a beautiful view. This is exactly what this restaurant’s front porch reminded me of, my family time growing up, as well as, the quiet and intimate times I had with God. I say it’s time to find your front porch and begin to have those funny, intimate, quiet, or loving conversations because great conversations take place on the front porch!
